From The Harbour To Gastown

Mum decided to cut our trip to Vancouver one day short so that we could get our trailer into the shop earlier, which means tomorrow was our leaving day. Today we decided to head down to see the Vancouver Harbour and Gastown. We found parking near the Olympic Cauldron, which we got some pictures of, and started down the Harbour Walk which took us to Canada Place. I’m not

exactly sure what Canada Place is, but it looks like a cruise eship that’s been parked on land in case anyone was wondering. We were getting hungry by this point because we hadn’t exactly left the trailer early, and Dad really wanted a Japadog. It took us a while to find the Japadog stand, but we eventually got there and I must say, mine was pretty good. I never would have thought to put teriyaki sauce, seaweed, onions,

and something else that I can’t remember on a hot dog, but hey, at least it wasn’t gross. Luckily, our lunch stop was quite close to Gastown, so we began to head that way, checking out shops as we went. We stopped for coffee about halfway there, which was an excellent idea because they had Nutella lattes. Gastown was a pretty neat area, with lots of interesting shops and a big open plaza, but there were a lot of druggies and sketchy people hanging around, which made Mum uncomfortable. Dad wanted to walk up Robson Street, but we didn’t end up getting all the way there because Mum wanted

to get out of the area. Unfortunate, but what can you do. We made our way back up to the truck, and Dad decided to drive down Robson Street instead, just to see it. We then made our way of to the University of BC, because that’s one of my top candidates for universities so far. I mean, that may change when I actually know what I want to do, but we’ll see. The campus was very large and really pretty, right close to the ocean. I could definitely see myself going there, but I would need a bike to get around. We drove around the campus to get a good look and then set off back through downtown Vancouver towards our trailer where we ate supper and then turned in for the night. Peace out m8s.
