Time for some meetings with old friends. Well, at least, Dad’s old friend. Dad and Sanjeev went to high school together and recently reconnected through Linkedin. Sanjeev lives in Los Altos and he agreed to meet up with us at the Rosewood Hotel, which is right near Stanford. The hotel was really nice and we sat in the lounge area out on the balcony. Dad and Sanjeev got right down to talking while we ordered drinks and food. Sanjeev had to head off to work after about an hour, since he’s really busy, and the four of us drove onto the ground of Stanford so we could look around to see what was what. The grounds of Stanford were amazing and they were also huge. I liked it a lot better than Harvard

since a, it’s in California, b, it’s not spread out all over the city, and c, it’s a lot nicer to look at. We didn’t have a lot of time so we just checked out the Main Quad and the church. Apparently that’s the oldest part of the university. Whoever designed that part put a hell of a lot of effort into it, I’ll tell you that. I took a quick look around the inside of the church, which was gorgeous and had a massive organ, and then listened to one of the university students giving some younger kids a tour. I only heard a couple of minutes, but I learned that every year, the graduating class puts together a time capsule which is

then placed under a stone in the plaza. Apparently they have quite a few time capsules in there. Once Mum had had a chance to look in the church, we headed back to the truck. The next item on the list was a costal drive starting in Santa Cruz. We headed there right away since we didn’t want to encounter rush hour. It took about an hour to get down to Santa Cruz and then we

set off on our drive. We made a couple of stops along the way, the first one of which was at a beach. We didn’t stay there long, however. The wind had picked up and the temperature had dropped, so we didn’t want to be out of the car for extended periods of time. The parents wanted to stop at Half Moon Bay next, but they didn’t allow dogs and the price of admission was 10$, so we turned around and stopped in the town instead. I had to pee so we stopped at a coffee shop and bought some drinks for the road. The sun was starting to set by that point and we wanted to get home before dark. The only other stop we made on our drive was at Marin Point, which had been recommended to us by Sanjeev. There were some really good views of the Golden Gate and of the skyline of San Francisco, so we got some great pictures. Back at the trailer, Mum and i made a pasta salad for dinner and we watched an episode of Corner Gas. Peace out m8s.
