The Riverwalk

We’re going back into town today because we didn’t get much of a chance to do a lot of exploring the first time around. We managed to find parking a lot faster this time around, and had a chance to explore the war memorials across the street from our parking lot. The amount of people from the San Antonio are who had fought in the war in Vietnam was kind of astonishing. 60 000 I think. That war sucked man. Our first stop was the Riverwalk, since we’d gotten a bit lost the last time and hadn’t had much of a chance to do all that much exploring. We walked for quite a while, browsing for a place to eat. Dad was looking for a coffee

shop but there didn’t seem to be one on the lower level so we settled for a Mexican place. It had been a while since I’d had Mexican food, so that was really nice. They also had excellent homemade chips and salsa, which is a great bonus if I do say so myself. After Isaac finished off the last of my enchiladas, we walked over to the Alamo.

We had a bit more than ten minutes this time, so we went inside the old missionary, read some plaques and watched a video on the history of the fort. I had been feeling a bit dizzy all day, so I didn’t retain much of the video. There seemed to be a lot of shooting of rifles and stabbing of bayonets, however. After we’d had our fill of the old fort, we started the trek back to our truck. When we got back to the campsite, the others headed off to the pool while I stayed in to read some and to some homework. After dinner, we all settled down to watch an episode of Merlin. Bradley James is great, ok. Peace out m8s.
