Sonya’s Blog - Day 215 - January 23rd - Very Cold Today - Well for Florida!

Due to the snowstorm on the East Coast that is spread from Boston to North Carolina, we have some chilly weather today. The wind is quite cool and it is very windy outside. We will be spending today much like yesterday, school work and blogging catch up. Why not, it is not very pleasant to be outside.

After we got Isaac set up with his school work and our expectations for the day (cursive, math, English lessons and then blogging catch up) I started reading our other Jim Gaffigan book, Dad is Fat. I like this one much more than his other book, Food: A Love Story, mostly because I relate to it more. It covers his adventures from being single to having a wife and now five children. The best part is they live in a New York city two bedroom apartment, which is a walk up (no elevator). Good times. He has some funny takes on being a Dad and all that entails. There were some laugh out loud moments and I agree with many of his observations. It was a good book for a reading day.

When Blake and the kids decided they needed some internet access, Kizmet and I decided to stay behind in the RV and chill. I had some chores that I needed to to do and I didn’t have to get on the internet today, as I had not typed up my blog for yesterday yet. I decided to be lazy and it worked out well for us.

When the family got home they had rented a movie from Redbox, our very first rental from them. They are much cheaper down here, only $2. Isaac wanted to see Pixels and for $2 why not?

I had made a tasty beef stew with dumplings for supper, which was perfect for a chillier day. After supper, we got cozy and watched the movie. It did not get great reviews, but it was pretty cute. I can see why the reviewers didn’t like it, but it was a fun family movie to watch. We didn’t think it was nearly as bad as we had heard.
