Sonya's Blog - Day 205 - January 13th - I Stay at the RV
Blake booked a deep sea fishing tour for himself and the kids. I am not going as I get sick on boats, the smaller the boat the worse I am. Deep sea fishing is not for me. As a result I will be stuck at the campground all day with Kizmet, which will be fine with us.
Blake and the kids were out just before 8:30. The fishing place was about 1/2 hour away and they needed to be there for 9 or so. They sent me a picture once they were all settled on the boat and heading out to their first fishing spot.

It was kind of a windy day outside and really cloudy, so not great for sitting outside. The RV was a mess, especially Isaac's side of his bedroom. Cleaning up was on my agenda. I also needed to wash floors and do a bunch of laundry, so it was going to be pretty exciting.
I pretty much cleaned all day. I got Isaac's side of the room more organized and I got lots of laundry done. I also walked Kizmet a few times. Kizmet loves it when I clean up, she likes to help out. She needs to sniff everything I am trying to put away and get her nose in wherever she can. She does not love the vacuum cleaner though, it is a scary machine. It doesn't make her tremble like fireworks, but she certainly does not want that noisy, nasty machine anywhere near her. Of course, if she didn't shed so much then I wouldn't need to vacuum so much.
I finally had time to relax with my cup of tea and start on a book. I suppose I could have cleaned some more, but I was fed up with it at this point. Plus it had started raining at around noon and I could no longer put things outside to air out.
I started on the book The All Girls Filling Station Final Reunion by Fannie Flag. She wrote Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, which I have never read. I did love the movie though, so that is good. I was only 2 pages into it, when Kizmet was desperate to go outside again. I took her outside for a good walk and run in the dog park and when I got back to the RV I was locked out. Blake and the kids had come home while I was out walking Kizmet and locked us out. Nice.
They all smelled really bad and the RV stunk like fish now that they were back. They had fish and squid guts (for the bait) all over themselves. Clothes had to be washed (more laundry for me - hooray) and showers had to be had. After Natasha’s shower she sat and told me about her day. It turns out fishing isn’t really for her. She liked the boat and being on the water, but the fishing part - well not so much. Her favourite part was putting the bait on the hook, the bait was squid. She didn’t realize that if you squeezed it then all this stuff would come shooting out of it. She got squid guts all over her favourite Converse high-tops. “Oh Mum, can you was those for me. They are my FAVOURITE shoes!” Ahhh, the drama.
They all had showers and then I started on the laundry. I also started on my book while they were all taking care of their messiness.
We finally had supper and then finished watching the movie Labyrinth as our tribute to David Bowie.
