Sonya’s Blog - Day 204 - January 12th - Rainy Day

Well, pouring rain today because David Bowie died on Sunday and the skies are crying their eyes out.

Blake and I headed to the cafe in Key Colony Beach because Blake needed better wifi for some research he needed to do. The kids weren’t up yet, so we left them in bed and took off. If they want to be lazy, then they miss out on cool cafe’s. I took the computer and typed up my blog, but I forgot my phone so I couldn’t update it. Will need to do it late tonight or early tomorrow morning. The wifi is always better when very few people are on it. This campsite also restricts our bandwith, so we need to be careful with how much we are uploading. We went to Leigh Ann’s Coffee House. This is run by a Mother and her two daughters and their slogan is “If We got any fresher, we would be flirting”. It was a very cute little cafe and very busy on this rainy morning. We took seats at the bar area and set up our computers. The ladies delivered our latte’s and Eggs Benedict (to share) to us. We got online and did our thing. Blake wanted to touch base with more work associates and look at job prospects in Calgary. Not as dire as we were expecting, there are still positions being posted that Blake would qualify for. He is not applying for them, but it helps to know what is available. He made some contacts with Husky to get the ball rolling there. I got my last two postings all typed up and hopefully I can get it posted tonight or tomorrow morning.

When we were done at the cafe we headed back to the campsite. It was already 11:30 and our lazy kids were just getting up and having breakfast. They sure know how to waste a day if we are not on their cases.

Natasha has taken over our bed doing her schoolwork - she likes to have it all spread out:

It was still raining, so we just got them going on doing school work. There is not much to do in the Keys if it is raining. It is mostly outdoor activities. Not very much happened. It is not supposed to rain tomorrow, which is good because Blake and the kids are going deep sea fishing.

After supper we wanted to pay tribute to David Bowie, so we started watching Labyrinth. We only watched 1/2 of it because the kids needed to get to bed on time so they could get up bright and early for their fishing trip.
