A Bikeride Through Mordor

Happy New Year everybody. Emphasis on year. We aren’t celebrating the dawning of multiple years now children. We didn’t do much this morning. The other three were

trying to recover from our “late” night the night before. If you call midnight late. After lunch, after it had cooled down a bit, we all hopped on our bikes and headed towards the beach. The plan was to bike the few kilometres to the pier where the New Year celebration had taken place. Well, it’s rather difficult to bike directly into the wind, especially if you’re on a surface that gives, so we didn’t make it all the way down. It didn’t help that the sand started to get gradually softer as we went on, which resulted in a lot of periods of walking my bike. When Dad and I caught up to Mum and Isaac, we parked our

bike and I went into the water for a bit. I was wearing a dress so I hitched it up but I still ended up getting it wet thanks to a larger wave. Oh whale. After a bit of relaxation, we turned around and went back. I must say, biking with the wind behind you is much easier than the other way around. It didn’t take us too long to make it back to the campground. When we got there, the entire team banded together to make a fabulous New Year’s dinner! Was that peppy enough? It was quite a good meal, complete with ham and such things. After that, we put on the movie The Wedding Singer, with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. I think I’d seen some of it before but I couldn’t remember the whole thing and it was pretty funny. A good movie to watch. Peace out m8s.
