Sonya’s Blog - Day 125 - October 25th - Hanging out with Kizmet at the Campground
Blake and the kids got up and left around 9 AM. Blake wanted to try driving to a different station (Sufferin) because there are more options for trains to get back. Sufferin is about an hours drive away, so hopefully everything goes well for them.
I didn’t really get up, except to say good-bye and then crawled back into bed to have an extra snooze with Kizmet. It was pretty rough going.
When I finally dragged myself out of bed, due to the fact that I needed another cup of tea, it was later morning. It was a pretty chilly morning, so Kizmet and I were not too serious about going outside until the sun warmed things up a bit. I am sure Kizmet wouldn’t have minded, but she was happy to accommodate me.
I had lofty goals today. Some laundry and maybe some cleaning. Mostly I wanted to finish my book and hang out with Kizmet.
I achieved getting some laundry done, plus I finished my book and hung out with Kizmet a lot. Not a ton of cleaning got done, but that’s the way it goes.
My book was called The Runner by , It is about an American and a German after WWII. The American has been sent over to help interview Nazi’s about their roles in World War II. The German is a soldier that was being held in an American camp and is wanted for war crimes. He escapes and the rest of the book is about the chase. Some of the book is from the American’s perspective and some is from the German’s perspective. It was an interesting book and it gives you a bit of an idea of the mood in Germany and Europe right after WWII ended.

Kizmet and I went on quite a few walks and enjoyed the fall weather. Blake kept me up to date on what was happening in New York. They ended up getting on the Ferry and going to Liberty Island and Ellis Island. They then went to 5 Napkin Burger for lunch, because Natasha’s friend told her she HAD TO GO!
Everyone got back at 8 and I heard all of their stories. They had a snack and then we all got ready for bed. We want to be on that 8 AM train tomorrow for our last day in New York.
