A Mad Tea Party

So this morning sucked in terms of I basically froze to death as soon as I sat up thanks to the fact that it was approximately -2˚C when we woke up. However, it was supposed to warm up today, unlike yesterday, so we dressed a little bit lighter. We found a dog sitter for Kizmet and decided to take the commuter train into town. The sitter had two goats, and albino German Shepherd, some chickens and I think a pig. Kizmet went nuts, so we left as soon as she had been sufficiently embarrassing. The train was nice and we had a table we could play cards on so the trip passed quite quickly. When we got off, we had a bit of a hassle trying to find our way to a hop on hop off trolley stop and ended up walking all the way to Faneuil Hall, the first stop all the trolley tours have. We took the whole loop around. The trolley guy was pretty funny and he had the traditional Boston accent to keep me

amused. We drove through both the Harvard, Berklee and MIT campuses. Apparently, the average GPA at MIT is a 4.3 out of 4. How, I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure I’m not gonna end up there. Back at the first stop, we hopped off and got on another bus which took us to Little Italy so we could find somewhere to eat for lunch. It wasn’t the best food, but ah well, what are you going to do. You have to choose poorly sometimes. Afterwards, we walked past Paul Revere's house, which is also in the

Little Italy area. Apparently it was a feild trip day, because we passed about three different school groups. I wanted to check out the Boston Tea Party museum so we started over in that direction. We walked down the waterfront most of the way there and got to check out Long Wharf. It's not exactly very long anymore, since so much of the ocean has been filled in to make more space, but it used to extend about 530 meters, or 2000 feet, out into the harbour. At the museu, we arrived just in time for the next tour.

While we waited the five minutes for it to start, we checked out the gift shop, because gift shops are very exciting obviously. Tthe first stop of the tour was the Meeting Hall, originally in Faneuil Hall but had been moved to the Old South Meeting House by this point in history. We were all given secret identities and then everybody was pounding on things and shouting "Huzzah!", or yelling "Fie!" as an insult. Isaac got to deliver a line about the

injustice of the tea tax. A runner came at the end of the meeting to let us know that we would not be aloud to refuse the shipment of tea and turn away the ships. Then we were on our feet and onto the boats to destroy the tea. We disguised ourselves and got on the ships. The British seamen stood aside and agreed to keep quiet while we toured the boat, which was very small and full of rats, and through the tea overboard. Inside the museum, we watched some videos about the War of Independence and learned about the escapades of Paul Revere and the "shot heard around the world". After the tour was done, we had to start heading back because the tea house was unfortunately closed. We managed to get on the next train out of the city, back on our way to Kizmet. Peace out m8s.
