Today we drove to Margaree Centre in Cape Breton and we had to leave the Kizmet behind us as we must take the ferry to Newfoundland and think it would be better to leave her behind as opposed to locking her in the car for sixteen hours. Our plan was to stop in a whole bunch of little towns along the way and the first was Antigonish. There were a whole bunch of students out on the streets holding up signs for Shinerama, a fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis. We stopped at a farmer’s market to both check it out and to ask a group of kids what they were doing and that’s how we found out. In the market we bought some cookies and samosas for lunch. The we drove through the St. Francis Xavier Uni campus and it reminded of the all girls school in Pittsburgh we walked through last fall. I think I have a new favourite Canadian university guys. We didn’t stop again until we crossed the causeway to Cape Breton. We stopped at the Red Barn, a little shop with lots of locally made stuff and lots of tourist stuff as well. I bought my new keychain there. When we got into town we basically screwed around for a bit before deciding to head out for some dinner. After getting lost four or five times and having the GPS tell us to turn onto a hiking trail we finally made it back onto the highway. We found a nice restaurant on the harbour with good reviews and good views. We were the first ones in the restaurant since it had just opened and I had seafood spaghetti, which was fabulous my dear. Back at the cabin Dad finally got to turn on the Jays game he’d been obsessing about all of supper and I watched some of the Flash before (maybe or maybe not) going to sleep. Peace out m8s.
