Sonya’s Blog - Day 79 - September 9th - Anne and Gilbert: The Musical
Blake bought tickets for us to go and see Anne and Gilbert the Musical at 1 PM today. Our neighbours at the campground told Blake they had gone to see it and it was really good. The kids worked on their lessons in the morning and then we had lunch and headed off to the theatre.
It was just a little theatre, sat about 100 people. We all got settled about 5 minutes before the show was to start. I made Isaac go to the bathroom because they did not allow you to leave the theatre and come back in during the show, if you left then you had to wait until intermission to come back in. The show is a musical of the second and third books in the Anne of Green Gables series, Anne of Avonlea and Anne of the Island

. It is all about how Anne resists Gilbert’s affections, but then finally comes to realize that she loves him too. Ahh, romance. It was a good production and the musical numbers were well done. We all enjoyed the show and the girl that played Anne was really good and had a nice voice. Unfortunately, Blake did not go to the bathroom before the show started and missed the last 15 minutes of the first 1/2 because he couldn’t wait any longer! My goodness, it was a little embarrassing.
After the show, we ran into the Anne of Green Gables store because Isaac had seen a magnet there the day before that he wanted to buy. We were then out of time on our meter so we had to head back to camp.
We started to pack up and clean up the RV when we got back as we were leaving the next day. We needed to all pack bags because we are dropping off the RV for service and it is going to stay at the service place for 2 weeks while we are touring around Cape Breton and Newfoundland.
After supper we decided to watch a movie and Blake had chosen Oblivion with Tom Cruise because we had good access to Netflix. The movie was okay, I thought the storyline had a lot of holes in it. It was a little confusing to start off with because you don’t really know what is going on, but the main character doesn’t either. It’s a future Earth that has been destroyed after a war with aliens. It was entertaining enough I guess, I watched it until the end.
