Sonya’s Blog - Day 62 - August 23rd - Blake’s old house, Pointe Claire and visiting with Donna and Bill
We needed to clean up the RV this morning as it was getting out of control. I also needed to do some laundry that had to be hung to dry. Once that was all done and the we were all in a pretty bad mood, we headed out. The plan was to go to McKinley street and see one of the houses that Blake lived in when they lived in Montreal, then head to Pointe Claire and check out Lakeshore Drive and then go back to Donna and Bill’s to have another visit before we leave for Quebec City tomorrow.

First we headed to McKinley Street and Blake found his old house, well he was pretty sure we were looking at the right one:) He thought he would have no problem recognizing it, but he did as he lived there when he was born until he was about 5 or 6. He wanted to go and see the other house he lived in as well, which was in that area, but he couldn’t find the street on the GPS and couldn’t remember exactly where it was. They moved to that house when he was about 6 and then moved out when they moved to Calgary.
We then headed to Pointe Claire to find a cafe and check out Lakeshore Drive which has some unique shops on it. We had Kizmet with us so we had to find a cafe with a patio, which was not a problem. We had a snacky lunch and then walked up and down the street looking at the different shops and checking out the old buildings.
After that we headed over to Donna and Bill’s house. We visited, the boys played in the pool and Kizmet and Bailey were much more playful with each other this time. They remembered each other right away and Bailey was not as afraid of Kizmet so they had some fun. Kizmet did love to steal Bailey’s toys and was quite bratty about it. We then headed out for supper with them to a nearby Italian restaurant that they like to go to. Blake and Isaac were excited because they have good pizza there.

We had not been there for long when Bill’s brother showed up with his family, so we got to meet them as well. This was not planned, they both just like that restaurant, so it was pretty funny. We had a good meal and were all very full at the end. Bill paid for all of us, so that was a nice treat and thanks so much! We headed back to pick up Kizmet and hoped that her and Bailey hadn’t wrecked the house. Everything was in order, so that was good. Donna gave us Jeff’s smoked meat to take with us, oh it is going to be sooooo tasty!!! We also got some Baton Rouge Ribs, which was very generous. Our freezer will be filled up at the RV now. We decided to head out because it is almost an hour drive and we head out to Quebec City tomorrow. It was a good drive home, but our GPS took us over the rickety bridge that Bill said he wouldn’t drive over anymore. We made it, so we felt pretty lucky.
Here we come Quebec City!
