Today was a bit of a sleep in day as well, and it was also another museum day. Today we headed down to the Canadian Museum of History on the Ottawa River in Gatineau. Their special exhibit was Ancient Greece, from the very beginning of that civilization all the way up to Alexander the Great. There were many artifacts: marble busts, clay pots, sculptures and bowls, bronze and iron tools and weapons, stele’s, or grave markers, helmets. Some of the stuff had never left Greece up to this point. I managed to spend a full two hours in there, reading everything. The Spartans were not very nice people, you know. Neither were Alexander the Great and Phillip II. But the Athenians were very smart. It was very interesting. There was also an IMAX movie on Ancient Greece, with a lot about the Parthenon and a lost civilization. You see, on one of the many islands of Greece, an architect found the remains of an ancient people, wiped out by the largest volcano eruption in all of recorded history. There was one problem, though. They couldn’t find any people. There were no human remains left on the island, only objects left behind. It was quite cool. We also went in the Terry Fox exposition, which was the story of his life and the Marathon of Hope, along with some of his belongings on loan from his family in B.C. After the film, we walked quickly through the Native American part, but all of us were rather tired by this point, so we decided to head home. Dad bought some stuff in the gift shop, but refused to share what he bought, which I find rather suspicious. Hmm. Anyways, that was the highlight of the day. After we got back, the other three went to play some bochi ball and I stayed at home with Kizmet. I did some conditioning and finished my book and we prepared to leave the next day. Peace out m8s.
