An Eternity Of Wars

Today ended up being a sleep in day after a late

night the night before, so we basically lazed around the campsite until two o’clock, at which point we decided to go out and venture into the world of the Canadian War Museum. I must say, it’s one of the better war museums I’ve been to. They had almost 2kms of war memorabilia, dating back to wars between Native Tribes before the explorers came over the water. There was also a temporary exhibit on the Colosseum and gladiators in Ancient Rome. We actually ended up spending way too much time in that exhibit and then I didn’t have enough time to go through all the other ones. There were four other sections, not including the collection of tanks and ambulances they had in the basement, one from the beginning to time to the war of 1812, the second from the Beor War to World War One, the third World War Two and the fourth from the Cold War until now. I got to see the first two and read a lot in both of those sections. I also found

out I fit all the requirements for recruiting into the army in 1914, except for the fact that I’m not 18. After I finished WWI, I found out the museum was going to close in 30mins, so I skipped WWII altogether and took a quick look around the Cold War exhibit, complete with a control room from he ’50’s, where you could watch the movements of troops, boats and planes on a map. Our last ten minutes were spent in the tank display, which was rather huge, but basically consisted of nothing but death machines, so I wasn’t all that interested. Then we went down to the Byward market to find a place to eat. There are so many restaurants down there that you can eat three meals a day at a different restaurant each time for three months, so the decision was hard to make. We ended up going to a place called the fish market, which ended up being pretty good and we got comfy chairs, which was a plus. Peace out m8s.
