We Cycle The Capital

Our first day in the grand capital of Canada. Basically, it took forever to get out of the trailer and set up all the bikes in the back of the truck. We’d decided we were going to use the many bike paths to traverse from Gatineau, across the river, and into Ottawa. The bike ride took quite a long time, because none of us really knew

where we were going. We also ended up taking an unplanned detour to an archeological dig, which was kind of neat and you could see the parliament and 24 Sussex across the Ottawa River from where the dig was located on the bank. They were digging up stuff from an Algonquin camp almost 5000 years old. After a while I started to get hungry so we got back on the trail, stopping to eat our little tiny lunch Isaac had so graciously packed

for us. When we got into town we headed straight to the Parliament buildings and found a little bistro across the street where we stopped for more food. Then we walked up Parliament Hill to see if we could get a tour of the centre block where the Senate and the House of Commons are, but as it turned out we needed tickets and as those tickets were first come first serve, they were all out for the day. We decided to come back earlier the next day and headed back to the trailer where we chilled for the rest of the night. The bike ride back was fun because we still had no idea where we were going. Good times. Peace out m8s.
