The Story Of Tobermory

A driving day, a driving day. We decided to explore Bruce Peninsula, which juts into Lake Huron off Owen Sound, today. I thought it was going to be a lot like Door County, with lots of little towns to stop in along the way, but it turned out to be more of simply driving until Tobermory, the town at the very tip. We walked around it for a couple of hours, mostly going in and out of the shops. We stopped for coffee first thing and then Mum bought a skirt made out of recycled sari and i bought a wallet at the store next door. There were lots of interesting clothing stores that we stopped in, along with a candy store, where Isaac bought a 36” thing of sugar, and a book store. There was also a pier on which were parked many yachts of differing

shaped and sizes. I like yachts they’re pretty. Who would like to buy one with me and live on it for a couple of years? Anyone, anyone? We drove back down the opposite side we’d come up on, but it wasn’t much more interesting. There were no more towns to stop in and it started to rain about halfway there, but we got to drive along the lakeshore for a bit, which was a nice change from the wall of trees on either side of the road. There was a fish fry happening in the community centre of Sauble Beach, but none of us were really hungry, so I decided to stop on the main street and check out the shops. Mum and I walked around there for a while and it stopped raining after a bit, so the boys headed down to the water where we joined them a little later. I went swimming because I’d brought my swimsuit, but it turned out none of us had brought towels, so that was a wet ride home. Peace out m8s.
