Sonya’s Blog - Day 31 - July 23rd - Mount Olympus Day 2

We left a month ago, time is flying by. We have had some small hiccups, but nothing too major. This morning we had not hot water though, so that is an issue. It seems to heat up with the gas, but not the electric. We called a service guy that works in the area and will come to our RV, but he was not available until tomorrow late afternoon. We head out tomorrow morning to Milwaukee, so we shall see. At least we can get hot water with our gas.

We are off to the park again. Once again the boys were out before the girls, Isaac just cannot get enough of it. We decided to meet up at Poseidon’s Rage. Natasha and I made it over there for about 10:30 and found chairs that we could commandeer for the day. Natasha ran off and said she would meet at the pool in a bit. I waited and waited and then just started reading because she wasn’t in Poseidon’s Rage and neither were the boys. Blake finally found me, they had been messing around in another area of the park. Then Natasha showed up, she had gone to the indoor waterpark and ridden all the slides and the lazy river because nobody was in there and there were no line ups. We decided to do the outdoor tube slides because they were not lined up too badly. Everyone wanted to do the boomerang slide, here is a picture of Natasha and I on the slide:

We then went back and did the other one, which was a lot of fun as well. Here is pic of us coming off that one:

We then went over to the indoor waterpark and rode all the slides in there because there was still no line-ups. The indoor slides were far faster than the slides we waited for yesterday and no line-up! We then moved onto the indoor tube slides, again no line-up, sweet! There are two of them and we flipped right over coming out of the second one. It was very fun, plus the water inside was not nearly as cold as the outdoor water. Plus the lazy river was far lazier than the one outside and Natasha and I went around 3 times just hanging out.

We decided to dry off and then head back to the RV for lunch and some Kizmet time. We found some nice walks to take her on, that are away from the campground and more peaceful. We headed back, but I was done watersliding. Blake headed off with the kids and I read my book. A guy stopped to tell me how great the book was and the whole series, it is the first of 3. He had just finished the 3rd book and thinks they get better as they go on, good to know. I like the first one so I am sure I will pick up the next two at some point this year. For those that do not read all my fascinating blogs, I am reading The Magicians by Lev Grossman. I had reapplied my sunscreen, but the sun was super hot and there was not a lot of available shade. So I headed back to the RV to hang with Kizmet and finish reading in the air conditioned RV. I did get a little burned so I am glad I headed back when I did.

Isaac waiting for Poseidon's Revenge:

I finished up my book and it was good. It is about Magicians among us in the real world, like Harry Potter, but much darker and an adult book. Quinton is about to head to College when he is chosen by the Magical world to attend their school, which is one of the reasons it is an adult book as the characters are adults. He accepts and learns about how to be a magician. It is a 5 year program and the book covers his whole 5 years of schooling as well as some of the time after he graduates. They are far messier magicians then in Harry Potter and a little screwed up, so there is a lot of personal drama and a lot of mistakes with magic. They go through quite a bit in one book and it was a good read. I will most certainly be reading the next two.

Blake and kids came back and we had some supper. They all wanted to head back and try one of the rides that you have to pay for. I decided to stay back and do the dishes and go to the grocery store and start getting ready for leaving tomorrow. Isaac was upset because I had promised to do all the inside waterslides with him since I had done them with Natasha this morning. I had already had my shower at this point and was all cleaned up and didn’t feel like getting soaked with Chlorinated water again. I promised to pack up in the morning and then head over for 10 and do that. I had a nice quiet night on my own with Kizmet while they went crazy in the park.

I thought about starting a new book, but then I don’t get anything done. I will wait a few days before starting a new one. I picked up a new book at the Chicago KOA, a Lisa Gardener. She is always easy to read and good for some suspense. This one is called Touch & Go.

Talke to you later,

Sonya
