Sonya’s Blog - Day 30 - July 22nd - Mount Olympus
Blake and I were up pretty early and realized that we had no milk and that we needed a few other groceries. We looked up where the grocery store was, luckily I still had some days left on my data plan because there is no wifi here. We found it and it was probably a 15 minute bike ride, so we got out the saddle bags and then took off. It was all downhill for awhile which made me nervous about the ride back because I love biking up hills. We found the grocery store among all the tourist traps and got our groceries. It was already warm out and looked like it was going to be a gorgeous day which is nice if you are going to waterparks.
We got back to the RV and Isaac was up and having breakfast and Tash was still in bed. Isaac ate and got dressed and was ready to go so he left with Blake while I waited for Tash to get ready. We got to the park about an hour later and found Blake and Isaac right away. They were coming off of Hades 360, which is a very large rollercoaster that goes under the parking lot, continues on it’s track at the end of the parking lot and them comes back under the parking lot to finish up. That was all they managed to do in the hour it took us to the park, that is the rollercoaster that lines up first and is lined up until they close it down. Isaac proclaimed it to be “awesome”. We continued on into the park with them and they went and did another roller coaster. All the roller coasters are wooden trestles ones, which I don’t love as I find them more rickety and not as smooth and harder on my neck. The Zeus rollercoaster did me in the night before. They went and rode another rollercoaster and then we went and did some go carts. I love the go carts, but they are so stinky. The lines are in a covered area where the go carts drive into and all the fumes build up in there, it’s probably not great for the lungs. I kept leaning over the edge to catch the breeze and try not to breathe in all the fumes. We went and did some other stuff and then checked out the indoor amusement park. Isaac went and rode the one ride he was not too tall for and then we headed back to have lunch at the RV and hang with Kizzy. The park was getting quite busy by this time so it was a good time to take a break. We were going to come back and check out the waterparks after lunch.
Lunch was good, it really is super convenient to be a 5 minute bike ride away. It took us longer to walk through the park then it did to get back to the RV. Kizmet was super happy to have us back. Isaac wanted to get back as quickly as possible, Natasha and I were willing to spend more time chillaxin and hanging with Kizmet. The boys headed back and we took our time. We caught up with them at one area of the outdoor waterpark that we decided to try out first. First we went on the lazy river, which was not so much a lazy river as a kids running and swimming and screaming their way along it while you are trying to have a relaxing ride on your tube. We then headed to the slides, wow was it super slow. They waited until the person before you was all the way down the slide and then out of the water all the way before you were allowed to go. Wow did that take a long time to ride one slide. Isaac wanted to head over to Poseidon’s Revenge which is a large pool that sends out a super big wave every minute or something. He loved that pool and was pretty proud of how many times he got flipped over by the huge wave. They also had a regular wave pool, but Isaac liked the massive wave.

Taking a break at Mount Olympus:

I am not sure what everyone else did, but I headed back to the RV after I had dried off and read some more of my book. I took Kizmet for a walk and then came back to the RV. I thought about starting supper, but decided that my book was more interesting. So I made myself a cup of tea and continued reading.
Everyone finally showed up about 6:30 or something and we had supper. The boys headed back to the park for more riding and sliding and Tash and I stayed back at the RV to clean up and read some more. I was parked out and I guess Tash was too. Also, Kizmet needs lots of love and cuddles.
The boys stayed at the park till closing time and didn’t get back until 10:20 or so. Isaac was so wiped out, but hyped up. He is gung-ho to be there at opening time again tomorrow.
