Sonya’s Blog - Day 27 - July 19 - Hanging out at the campsite

After our incredibly long day yesterday we decided to hang out the campsite and that Blake and Suz would take the kids to the Wild West Park that was right next door to our campground. Natasha and I were just going to hang around at the RV, cleaning up and doing some reading. We also had to go to the grocery store. Adam had work to do and he left to find a Starbucks or McDonalds that had decent wifi because the campground certainly did not. Blake, Suz, Isaac, Claire, Kate and Simon went to the Wild West. Tash lazed around and I ran around the RV doing laundry and cleaning up because it was extremely messy - 3 extra small ones in there playing around and it was hard to find somewhere to walk. I then told Tash she was not going to laze around all day and she could come to the grocery store with me. That was pretty uneventful, it’s just a grocery store about 10 minutes away in the next town. Adam came back around 2 right before Suz came back with the kids. Isaac and Blake were still at the Wild West place because Isaac wanted to go to the gift store - what a surprise - Isaac LOVES gift stores!

Simon went down for a nap and all the rest of us went and played mini-golf once Isaac and Blake got back. All the boys played together and all the girls. I had a really good game, which is surprising because I am not very good at mini-golf. I am not sure who won, but we know it wasn’t Natasha! She did not have a good game and is never playing mini-golf again!!

Blake and Adam then took the kids to the pool. I went as well, but just to sit on the edge and soak my feet. In the end there were too many kids in the pool and I kept getting splashed - my favourite! So I left. I went and read my book. I was going to read Brain on Fire, but I had bought the book The Magicians by Lev Grossman and I started reading that instead. It is going to be a good one I think.

We then had supper, always entertaining with that many people, but I think everyone ate. The little one’s were put to bed and Tash and Isaac were doing their own thing so the Adults went and played Frisbee Golf - Frolf - Adam and I against Blake and Suz. We all had pretty decent throws, except for Suzanne’s first throw. Straight into a fenced off area, off the roof of the shed and then into the yard area. It was all fenced off and chained. We left it there with the intention of getting it back the next day and went and grabbed another frisbee. After that we all had our share of good throws and bad throws. Adam says our team won, but Suzanne insists it was her team - I was not keeping score. Who knows who won, but we had fun and I got bit on the face about 10 times by mosquitoes.

We hightailed it back to the RV because the bugs were brutal and decided to play Golf the card game inside. I started out really well but lost focus or something because I ended up losing very badly. Not such great game playing skills tonight.
