We're Off To See St. Louis

Eyyy, we’ve been gone for over two weeks. The year really is gonna go fast. Huh. Well, we’re going to St. Louis today, only a three and a half hour drive, so not bad at all. Mum’s original plan was, as usual, to be up and out by ten at the latest. Unfortunately, we had a whole wonderful pile of crap we had to get done: clean the outdoor fridge, attach the water filter, blah blah blah, so we didn’t actually leave until half past noon. It also really helped that I’d asked to be woken up at 7:30am, but Dad decided to let me sleep in for another hour. It was a nice thought, I love sleeping and everything, but that meant I couldn’t lie in my bed for another forty-five minutes, as per usual. I did get an extra fifteen, though, because the boys sat in Isaac’s bed and played Angry Birds for what felt like forever. App noises are really quite annoying, you feel? Once we finished our holy list and actually started moving, we drove right back into the storm that had passed us overnight. It rained pretty much the entire time, and when it wasn’t raining the sky and pretty much everything else were a lovely shade of grey. So basically, it was purgatory. The rain was fun to listen to while I was reading however. The bickering between Isaac and basically everybody else, including the dog, was not so amusing. Solution; turn up my music volume all the way and go deaf slowly whilst it blasts directly into my eardrums through my earbuds. I completed the last book in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants quartet, which I ended up liking a whole lot more than I thought I was going to. It was really cute in a teenage trash love story kind of way. Afterwards, I pretty much blogged the rest of the way, caught up on some stuff. That’s the useful thing about driving so much: you get to see lots when you’re paying attention and you can get all your work done. When we got to the campground it was raining again so the parents set up while I took the dog for a walk and Isaac sat in the truck playing his video games for another half hour. The owners of the KOA invited us for cake and ice cream, celebrating a birthday, so we got to have dessert before dinner, which was exciting. Then we watched some Corner Gas, I corresponded with the home place, a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away. Pretty much it. Peace out m8s.
